Animated video production

No matter what your business or industry is, 7video works with you to bring your story to life. Our experts have produced thousands of 2D and 3D animation projects for a wide range of sectors in the West Midlands and across the UK including housing, local government, events, retail, education and health.

We create engaging animation videos that are compelling and visually stimulating. They are fun, get to the point quickly and are extremely popular across social media platforms, allowing businesses to effectively tell their story and build brand awareness.

From ten seconds to full feature length videos, our animation production company will work with you to fully understand your project before agreeing how to engage with an audience in the best way possible.

Animation explainer videos

Our explainer animations allow organisations to communicate with their audience in a way that is easy to understand. We frequently use character animation to help customers engage with their audience so they better relate to a message being conveyed. Animated videos also appeal to visual learners.

Explainer videos enable customers to quickly understand what the product or service is and how it will impact their life. Some of our popular types include infographics, whiteboard animations and motion graphics.

Our styles

2D character

Character animation is a great option if you want your message to tell a story. Viewers get engaged and pay attention to the vibrant and dynamic characters designed to suit your brand or business. The characters can be rigged with virtual bones and moved into poses or be animated by hand. This is a great format that engages, informs, entertains and persuades. Characters can range in complexity, from stick men to beautifully-illustrated designs. They can walk and talk and bring a friendly human element to your product or service. 2D animation is perfect for storytelling because of its flexibility and wide range of stylistic possibilities.

2D motion graphics

Motion graphics focus on giving movement to graphic design elements such as icons or graphs, but tend to have less of a concrete storytelling aspect than other types of animation. Motion graphics can illustrate complex ideas visually. Some ideas (especially big, abstract ones) are hard to explain with words or still images. A few seconds of motion graphics can clear everything up perfectly. Motion graphics are best for outlining or emphasising facts and illustrating a point you’re trying to make. Want the bars in your graph to rise up for some extra visual flair? That’s motion graphics.

Typographic animation or kinetic typography is a style of text animation. Using animated text is a fantastic choice if a professional voiceover is not an option and the animation has to sell a message silently. It can be fast or slow paced and works well mixed with motion graphics to help viewers get the idea of what you are trying to say. A text-based video can be a more affordable way to create and publish, but it is equally effective in getting your message across.

3D modelling

This technique is very popular in the production of technical equipment because it allows you to make changes to the yet undeveloped product, significantly saving money on its creation by reducing the likelihood of error. It is great to show how a product works or how it looks from the inside, such as a complex mechanism.

Hi guys, Pete from 7video, I’d like to talk to you about animation.

Animation is a great way of bringing your ideas to life, especially when something like film won’t work. It grabs the attention, stimulates people’s minds and really tells the story you want to tell.

But what are the benefits?

  • Well, research shows that customers are more likely to watch an animation than read about a product.
  • It creates an impression which will last much longer.
  • It’s much easier to understand, so you can really get complicated messages across.
  • It’s a more engaging way of promoting your product or idea.
  • And anyone viewing one is more likely to act on what they’ve seen by either completing a contact from or making a purchase.

So, if you’re looking to getting your messages across to your audience in a way that film just won’t work, animation is the solution for you.

And we love what we do with animation here at 7video and we’d love to talk to you about it. So get in touch with us and let’s have a chat!

Frequently asked questions

This depends on a number of factors including how long you want it to be, how long it will take to make, what style you want to use and whether you need things like a professional voiceover. All projects are bespoke with costs starting from a few hundred pounds. Our team will work with you to help you decide the best approach within your budget, before carefully planning and producing your project.

This is influenced by the message you are trying to get across. For example 2D character animation is great if you are trying to tell a story with viewers getting engaged or paying attention to the vibrant and dynamic characters. Motion graphics can illustrate complex ideas visually while typography is a great way of selling a message silently. 3D modelling is perfect for showing how a product works or looks inside.

The shorter the better and we can help you plan or script your project to make it short and sweet. Many of our projects are between 45 and 60 seconds; any longer we recommend thinking about editing it differently for different audiences or platforms i.e. a longer version for your website and a shorter one for social media.

This again really depends on the nature of your project, but as a guide it takes four to six weeks to produce after agreeing the best approach. This includes time needed for things like pre production, design and animation.

They are perfect for all types of marketing as they are fun and engaging and can make long or complicated messages easy to understand. Our projects have massively increased engagement, effectively communicated messages and increased sales or awareness for organisations large and small right across the UK, and overseas. We often say that if you cannot say it with film, you can with animation.
